• The GES in collaboration with the Ministry of Education has released the Academic Year Calendar for Senior High School (SHS), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Basic Schools for the next academic year.

2024 Academic Calendar For Basic Schools

Basic Schools 1st Term Reopening Date – (KG, Basic 1-6, JHS 1, JHS 2)

• KG, Basic 1 to 6, JHS 1 (Basic 7) and JHS 2 (Basic 8) students 1st Term Reopening Date is 3rd Oct. 2023 and will be in school till 22nd Dec. 2023

Basic Schools 1st Term Vacation Date – (KG, Basic 1-6, JHS 1, JHS 2)

• KG, Basic 1 to 6, JHS 1 (Basic 7) and JHS 2 (Basic 8) 1st Term Vacation Date is 23rd Dec. 2023 To 8th Jan. 2024

Basic Schools 2nd Term Reopening Date – (KG, Basic 1-6, JHS 1, JHS 2)

• KG, Basic 1 to 6, JHS 1 (Basic 7) and JHS 2 (Basic 8) students Second Term Reopening Date is 9th Jan. 2024and will be in school till 11th April, 2024

Basic Schools 2nd Term Vacation Date – (KG, Basic 1-6, JHS 1, JHS 2)

• KG, Basic 1 to 6, JHS 1 (Basic 7) and JHS 2 (Basic 8) students 2nd Term Vacation Date is 12^th April 2024 To 24^th April 2024

Basic Schools 3rd Term Reopening Date – (KG, Basic 1-6, JHS 1, JHS 2)

• KG, Basic 1 to 6, JHS 1 (Basic 7) and JHS 2 (Basic 8) students 3rd Term Reopening Date is 30th April 2024 and will be in school till 25th^th July, 2024

• KG, Basic 1 to 6, JHS 1 (Basic 7) and JHS 2 (Basic 8) students 3rd Term Vacation Date is 25th^th July, 2024

• JHS 3 (Basic 9) students 1st Term Reopening Date is 3rd Oct. 2023 and will be in school to 22nd Dec. 2023

• JHS 3 (Basic 9) 1st Term Vacation Date is 23rd Dec. 2023 To 8th Jan. 2024

• JHS 3 (Basic 9) students Second Term Reopening Date is 9th Jan. 2024and will be in school to 11th April, 2024

• JHS 3 (Basic 9) students third Term Reopening Date is 30th April 2024and write BECE Exams in July, 2024
